Kelty, Scottish Coal Carrying Championship - Saturday 29th August

Due to the coal race event this Saturday, Services 18 and 17B will be diverted via Great North Road, Black Road to Westcroft Way between the hours of 1150am and 1600pm

Stops on Station Road, Main Street and Bath Street will not be served during this time.

Kirkcaldy Parks Half Marathon - Sunday 30th August

Due to the Kirkcaldy half marathon event taking place on Sunday, Service 18B and 13A will be diverted & delays may occur.

Nicol Street, Raith Estate, Chapel Road and Fife Retail Park will not be served between 1000 – 1200

Dysart & Ravenscraig will not be served 1000 – 1330

Service 13A

0956 – Chapel Road to Retail Park will be cancelled

1000 – Retail Park will not operate but service will resume from Kirkcaldy Bus Station @ 1022am

1000 – West Wemyss will operate as far as Kirkcaldy Bus Station only

1100 – Retail Park will not operate but service will resume from Kirkcaldy Bus Station @ 1122am

1100 – West Wemyss will operate as far as Kirkcaldy Bus Station only

Journeys departing from West Wemyss will divert via Boreland, Dunnikier Way, Overton Road and rejoin normal route at Kidd Street towards Kirkcaldy Bus Station.

Service 18B

0924 – Kelty to Victoria Hospital will only operate as far as Kirkcaldy Bus Station. This will also divert via B9157 Invertiel Road, Esplanade. Auchtertool & Nicol Street will not be served.

1028 – Victoria Hospital to Kelty will not operate. This Service will resume from Kirkcaldy Bus Station at 1036 and will divert via B9157 Invertiel Road, Esplanade. Auchtertool & Nicol Street will not be served.

Fare Increases

From Monday 17th August 2026, fares across the Bay Travel network will increase by 6%.
This increase will apply to:

We understand that fare increases are never welcome, however this adjustment is necessary to help meet the rising costs of operating our services while continuing to provide safe, reliable and high-quality transport for our communities.

We’re making travel across Fife simpler with our new ticket zones, giving you more flexibility and great value wherever you’re heading.

Central Zone

Travel around Glenrothes, Leven and Kirkcaldy, extending to Beverkae Roundabout, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly and Ballingry

West Fife Zone

Travel throughout Crossford and Dunfermline, within the boundaries of Kelty, Ballingry, Lochgelly, Beverkae Roundabout and North Queensferry

Dunfermline Zone

Travel within Crossford and Dunfermline, including Kingseat and Queen Margaret Hospital as far as Aberdour Road

Cowdenbeath Zone

Travel between Kelty, Cowdenbeath and Auchtertool

Leven Zone

Travel between West Wemyss, Cameron Hospital and Leven

Kirkcaldy Zone

Travel across Kirkcaldy, Dysart and Boreland

Fife Zone

Unlimited travel on all Bay Travel services across Fife

New Addition to the Fleet

We’re delighted to welcome this latest vehicle into the Bay Travel Coaches fleet as we continue to expand our operations across Fife. This vehicle is the 1st of 3 new additions joining our fleet as part of our growth and continued investment in our services.
The new arrival comes as a result of continued growth and the awarding of additional contracts, allowing us to further strengthen the services we provide to our customers and local communities.

Marking 10 Years of Service

This month marks 10 years since we began operating local services at Bay Travel. To recognise the milestone, we’ve added a new vehicle to the fleet — finished in the original livery we used when we first started out.
We’ve also included a photo of one of the first buses we used on these services back in the early days. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving the local community remains the same.

Route One Awards - Finalists
